Saying "I do"

Ashlea & Bryce
Bryce proposed to Ashlea on Christmas day beside Highland Mary's monument in Failford, East Ayrshire. I married them seven months later and the wedding took place in a beautifully dressed marquee at Bryce’s farm in West Mossgiel, Mauchline. Guest numbers were limited due to COVID restrictions so it was a very intimate ceremony. It was a scorching hot day and the setting was perfect. Working with the couple was a joy – one of my favourite weddings that year.

Lisa & Nathan
It was a privilege to conduct the marriage ceremony for Edinburgh based couple Lisa and Nathan. The wedding took place in the stunning setting of the ballroom of the Turnberry Hotel in Ayrshire, with the best flower arrangement I’ve ever seen. The planning of the ceremony was straight forward and Lisa & Nathan were great to work with, knowing exactly what they wanted, and always responded promptly to my emails while the script was being developed.

Gemma & Stephen
I first met Gemma and Stephen in their Glasgow home in early August 2019 to discuss their wedding planned for 27 June 2020 at The Cocoabean in Twyneholm. Sadly the pandemic and lockdown dashed their plans, but they did manage to have their big day once life started to get back to something nearer to normal. On 6 August 2022 I married them in front of the biggest wedding audience I had for over two years! It was a lovely ceremony, so laid back and full of fun and laughter. After tying the knot they toasted their marriage by drinking from a quaich. Their chosen drink was a Cheeky Vimto – port and blue WKD! The quaich was filled to the brim and they slugged the lot! A great day!

Katharine & Steven
Katharine & Steven from Harrogate chose to have a humanist marriage ceremony in Scotland. They booked me to conduct the ceremony which was postponed due to the pandemic. Their plans involved waiting a year for the big day, as well as a change of venue. The wedding took place in tiny Kirkandrews Kirk in Borgue by Kirkudbright at the end of a single track road with no passing places!
With just closest family in attendance this was the most intimate ceremony I have ever conducted – check the gallery.
On the day the fire in the kirk was lit which looked lovely. However it was a scorching hot day and I had to stand right in front of the fireplace during the ceremony – I nearly melted! All in the line of duty of course!
